My husband bought Jiffy Pop against my wishes! He has some goofy nostalgia thing about Jiffy Pop! I hate Jiffy Pop! We have an electric oven and it doesn't work well- microwave is the way to go- I told him- he doesn't listen! Unfortunately, again I was right. This is what my electric stove top looked like after the butter started pouring out of the Jiffy Pop container. The popcorn NEVER popped, the house was permeated with burnt butter and popcorn kernel smell, I had to turn on the exhaust fans to air out the place and the kids were screaming because they couldn't hear the movie- I told him NO JIFFY POP!!!
My niece's first birthday is tomorrow and my sister's oven just broke. I will be playing the role of Betty Crocker instead of watching the movie (or blogging which is what I planned on doing) oh yeah, and cleaning up this mess...
Camp Rock Soundtrack- which I will definitely be forced to purchase- $15.00
Candy- $5.00
12-pack of Sprite- $4.00
Keeping 8 kids quiet for 2 hours- priceless!

OK, not to wish away where I am in life now (kids ages 2 and 4) but THAT made me so excited for the future! What a fun night- like a little prive screening for your kids and their friends. So cute and seemed relatively easy and should have certainly gotten you a "mom of the day award" from them! Thanks for the blog.
What fun...for them. And you are right...Priceless....
We forgot, I should say I forgot. And my kids were devastated. Bad Mom, BAD!!!
Oh, well there will be a ton of reruns.
I love your idea. You are such a nice Mom to let them have friends over for the movie. I may do the same thing. Have a great weekend in your New, Sexy Van!
Oh dear, I came here all ready to comment and I've read the other posts and now I feel like a really bad, mean mummy! I'm dreading this sort of thing. I don't mind parties or sleep overs but films and popcorn and sweets - ack!
We rock...we rock...we rock....going thru my head over and over. We had a party last nite, too. NO Jiffy Pop though...UGH!! I love popcorn!!
I am 45 and have kids from 7 to 23. I've been watching the Disney Channel for...23 years?????? And I still try to pretend these movies are the biggest event of the year. ;)
We rock....
I always wanted jiffy pop when I was a kid (we never got it b/c I was "po") But now that I could have it if I still wanted to, I prefer to make it the old fashioned way (crazy, huh?)

Is it just me, or was camp Rock kinda lame? I know Kenny Ortega was not involved in this one. Either way, we're going to see the Jo Bros in July. God help us.
Haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure I will!!
