And Another Thing...

After yesterday's post about Jon and Kate, I thought I'd be remiss to not even mention the recent octuplets and their unfolding circumstances and what a wild poor white trash ride it is!

If you've been living under a rock... to recap... last week- word's out that first set of surviving octuplets were born in California... mom's identity "withheld"... details are very hush hush...

Friday morning, CBS Early Show hits the mother load and discovers that the 33 year old unmarried woman ALREADY has 6 children ranging from ages 2-7 (including one set of twins-also from IVF!) She lives in a neighborhood of small ranch 2-3 bedroom homes with her parents who have just filed for bankruptcy. The identity of the biological father is still unknown. The grandfather of the babies plans to return to his Native Iraq to earn money. Trying to be evasive, he warned the reporters...

"We have a huge house, not here. You are never going to know where it is."

One of my theories...the Iraq thing is just to throw them off- he's from Saudi Arabia. He's freaking Osama Bin Laden! The dude's loaded! And 14 kids is nothing- he's one of 26 for Christ's sake!

I could get into the ethical cluster fuck that is the fertility clinic that's basting this woman's baby mill of a uterus. I could bitch and moan about my probable tax dollars that will be sheltering, diapering, and feeding this litter of babies until DFS, the Juvenile Detention Center, or GOD FORBID, TLC gets to them!

THEN, I see that the woman was "obsessed" with having babies- ya think?

Awwww. The poor little girl that didn't get enough love from mommy and daddy that's numbing the pain by creating babies so she's assured unconditional love. Ease the heartache with chocolate cake and promiscuity like a normal person!

In a perfect world, the bereft frozen embryo slut could have been scared straight by a visit to Maury Povich or Tyra.

The only way this story could get more scandalous is if this was her fertility doctor!

I have so many thoughts on this subject. Thanks for posting because I'm too chicken... I'm afraid with my own battles with infertility and wanting kids I may not come across the way I want it to. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled for people who have large families, but people like this get on my last DAMN nerve......

No shit. Where did she get the money for that? I left a comment on another blog regarding having several friends in married, stable and TWO INCOME relationships that are having trouble funding their pregnancies. Where did this chick get the cash? The doctors should be scrutinized as well, and if something is fishy with them, they should lose their licenses.

I'm with you all the way on that. It's too bad that the dollar speaks louder than ethics to these doctors too.

Call me a bitch, but the Dr. needs to be brought before a medical board, and she needs to have her kids taken from her. Period.

And the worst part? If what comes from all this goes on to make it even HARDER for legitemate people struggling with ACTUAL infertility to get the help they need.

She's not a mom, she's a puppy mill.

Excuse me while MY HEAD EXPLODES!

I saw a "medical morality specialist" saying "the number of children a woman already has is not a factor in determining if she's eligible for fertility treatment". I could not listen to another word after that.

Someone should have castrated Cecil Jacobson, btw.

I think Nancy Grace needs to stop with the Casey Anthony obsession and focus all her attention on this woman. This story is CRAZY!! I really can't understand how this is even legal. And how she afforded it is beyond me. I though IVF was really expensive.

Brilliant, per usual.

"Issues" does not even begin to touch what this chick's got.

Under the rock is nice and warm, by the way. Do you don't have to deal with idiots like this.

Remove the "Do" from my comment, please.

Love how I can't slam an idiot without sounding like one myself.

Drr.

The story is almost too outrageous. Here is the latest: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090131/ap_on_re_us/octuplets

Look at how mad the grandmother is!!!

What i heard on the radio out here in CA. Is that her dad paid for the IVF and they're being secretive because when they announce WHO they are... they want suspence. They did it on purpose b/c they want their own show. Assholes. Losers! Oh, AND, people around here have been donating stuff and the wacko psycho mom said " I'll compile of list of things I need and then let the public know" FREAK SHOW bitch!

Jenni said...

Isn't that a CRAZY story? What is WRONG with people?

I can't get pregnant with ONE kid and this bitch is like a fucking fertile myrtle. Is she trying to outkid the Duggars or something?

I'm watching the Jon & Kate house show right now. Kate just told the kids they are never allowed in her room or they will get severe punishment. Nice.

I finally caught the J&K episode with the new house.
Anyway, I don't want to come across as though any child is not a blessing. But children are not collectibles. The whole situation is sad. And when you already hvae 6 children, of which a set of twins is already from IVF, that should play into whether you qualify as a good candidate or not.

Yeah, that is a pretty bizarre story. I feel sorry for her parents, on one level, but it sounds like they brought this on themselves.

Yes! Thank you! So true!

If you can't pay the bills, don't have babies. It's simple.

Gotta love that story! They actually did release her name. And she was paid to do it! Can you believe that!? Oh well! lol

The more I read about this, the more I get totally pissed off. 14 kids. 2 bedrooms. A grandmother who said she's going to "walk" as soon as the babies come home. People have lost their minds. Most cannot feed one, never mind 14. So the state will pick up the tab.

I've been divorced 8 years with 5 children. I have a large family, yes. It was all planned. So was being married forever. lol. But to knowingly plan to have this many babies for no reason other than selfishness??? This woman is out of her flipping mind. Those poor kids. Either they will be exploited or she will not be able to care for them properly and we'll hear stories of abuse and neglect next.

WTF

Well, I sorta was living under a rock for the past few months, but I snapped out of it when I found out that she already had 6 kids!!!

OMFG, this REALLY irks me, perhaps I'm biased because I suffered from infertility for years, I've seen its devastating effects first hand, and the fact that they implanted so many in a relatively young woman ASTOUNDS me. The fertility doctors likely were only after the dollars, but the woman, really needs her head examined.

I like all your conspiracy theories LOL!

The children are the true victims in this whole mess - poor little babies! There should be some laws as to who should receive fertility treatment. Their are laws and requirements surrounding adoption of children. This definitely needs to be looked into seriously.

I'm with Momcat. Those poor kids. It is very likely that they will suffer with severe deficits. If she is trying to get a TV show, she should be shot.

You know I'm disturbed by this, because I got the news from you and was absolutely sickened by the whole thing. It's unbelievable, really. It's people like her who make our insurance and taxes higher. Thanks lady! I'm kind of glad you're going to be up to your neck in dirty diapers.

Deb said...

do NOT get me started on this. oh, and now apparently she is asking for $2,000,000 for her story and for product endorsement deals. i hope everyone says thanks, but no thanks.

but no worries, even if she doesn't get any deals, she'll have our government (read: us) to help her out.

Ok, you've hooked me. I have no idea how I haven't been to your blog until today, but after you left a comment on mine after my tribute to the boobs post, I stopped over to check things out. I really need to be going to bed right now, but somehow, I'm on my way to read a third post by you. I think you are an excellent writer, and I'm definitely going to be following your blog. You're great! And I want to know more about this expensive skin care - you look fabulous!

So, back on track...about this post. WOW. At first, I heard the news about this woman and thought it was such an amazing story. I mean, it IS amazing that all those babies were born just fine. But WOW. Sunday was the first time I heard the other ugly details. That is just freakin' NUTS.

Ok, I'm off to go read your Jon and Kate post. On a similar note, I wrote a lovely little rant about Michelle Duggar a few days ago if you're interested in checking it out.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog and commenting!
