Thousand Words Thursday

I don't usually play along with Thousand Word Thursdays because 1.) I suck at taking pictures and 2.) since I suck so badly at taking pictures they're never "worth a thousand words" but rather need an explanation and 3.) I am very long-winded... so if you want breathtaking pictures that don't need to be explained that you can just sit back and enjoy the beauty, go here, she never disappoints! If you want dysfunction, I got your dysfunction right here (the twist today- dysfunction WITH PICTURES!)...

Snow day from school #2. Husband home from work day #3. If you're doing the math, that's 6 people trapped by cold, icy, and snowy conditions in one house for 48 hours. Things could have gotten ugly. Luckily, I'm a peacekeeper (not really, I was just sick to death of being inside and my ears were bleeding from hearing them beg to go out and play in the snow!) I quelled the troops and there was no fighting bloodshed.

(don't get your panties in a bunch, they're making snow angels- but they do look a little dead, right?)

It took about an hour to bundle them up- Christmas Story style...

Murphy loved the snow, but it was so deep (and he is so small) that he was getting buried as he ran through it- so funny...

He had matted snow balls stuck to his fur- is that some kind of PETA violation?

When frozen dogs attack!

They attempted a snowman. This is as far as they got. Yeah. There's nothing. Note to self: work on follow through with girls. I suppose I could have put down the camera and helped, but then I wouldn't have been able to mock my husband shoveling our suicide slope driveway capture these fabulous memories!

Playing in the snow- over-rated!

Ten, I'm going to tell you the same thing I've been telling my boys for the past 30 days. CHRISTMAS IS OVER!!

Okay, so maybe I am just a little jealous about the snow. Looking at those pictures, all I could think of was "I want to be the one to make the first footsteps in that pure white powder!" And then I see a picture of Murray leading the way. WTH?! I was like 7 the last time I got to be the one who made the first footsteps. But, it looks like everyone had a great time. And what happened to the days when you could pay someone 10 bucks to plow your drive?

Great pictures. Murphy looks so cute!!

Your snow is really deep and Murphy is absolutely cute. I think its only a PETA violation if the dog isn't having fun!

Great pics! We are on our third day in a row off school for snow and ice, mainly ice at this point.

you just can not keep your mouth shut, can you? thank goodness, though, because you always make me laugh.

i think the doggie sweater is the PETA violation.

i ran out of interesting, speak for themselves photos months ago. i don't know if i need a better camera or a better trigger finger.

looks like you all had so much fun. we finally had some snow fun, too.

You know sometimes I wish for snow...and then I see pictures like this and hear stories of people being stuck in their homes....aaarrrggghhh! I love my house full of boys...just not all at the same time! LOL

Love, Love, LOVE, that snow angel pic! I am insanely jealous. Here in NE Kansas we're getting all of the freaking cold, none of the snow. If my ass is going to be the temperature of a snowball, I would at least like to snowboard with it.

Great pictures! I hate the dress up and the take off for snow play- sucks ass! You have a great sledding driveway! Ours is similar and is the neighborhood hit. I always tell kids if they hurt themselves, they better not sue me!

I love those photos....you underestimate yourself! Happy ATWT!

because I said so said...

brrrrr....

Looks WAY cold....too cold for us southern girls! Remember my snow day from last week? It lasted until the afternoon....NEVER 3 days and never THAT deep. Big One would be in heaven! Your dog is just the cutest!

FABULOUS JOB Tena! Those photos are fantastic and there are no rules to play, I love the descriptions of all photos! Your driveway is the perfect snow slide for kids...not cars though.

I remember the days fondly. One hour to dress them up, 10 minutes outside (if your lucky) and then they want to come in cause their freezing their little badonkadonks off.
But I always locked the door. Then I got at least 15 minutes.

That really looks like a whole lot of fun to me...as I sit on my porch, in a tank top and yoga pants, thinking about the unusually warm wather in Southern California today...

I especially love the "are they dead or making snow angels pic"

Great dead kid picture!!!

And I wish I had some snow to play in. And I also wish that if I DID have snow to play in, that i also had warm clothes to wear. You can tell we're from the south when we have live 10 t-shirts on and socks on our hands.

Jenni said...

Ahhhh, the pile of wet clothes at the end...LOL!

Fun pictures! They did look a little dead in that one picture but I guess I'll take your word for it that they were making snow angels...
