Just the beginning...

Well, we're back from a long weekend at the farm and can I just say that, being a country bumpkin is tiring! I don't know if it's all the fresh air or the fact that we had 8 kids and a dog to run around after on 230 acres. I do know that I never look forward to the obligatory annual trip, but it never disappoints (I really should stop my bitching!) It is truly a lesson in humility, simplicity, and the earths' beauty. Here is just a taste of our little piece of Americana:
The entrance:

The amenities:

I will continue to unfold our highlights this week!

The photo of the drive in is just gorgeous! I too always bitch about vacationing with family... then it turns out to be a heck of a lot of fun. Glad you had a good time! Look forward to hearing more!

All of my dad's side of the family live about 4 hours north of Toronto in a really rural place called Sturgeon Falls. I love visiting up there. It's great to go up and enjoy up but still have to option of going home whenever. I don't think I could take living there.

HAHA I like Beebs with the poo. And it is so pretty out there. Now thats the kind of home I want. Right in the middle of a bunch of acreage.

Great photos.
I have one smart-ass question...
Do all of the children wear life jackets around cow poo? Or just the youngest?

The last pictures a hoot...I feel the same way about visiting my IL's in the UP...that's why we haven't been there since they moved...

Missed your posts Tena! Hopefully that is as close as Beebs got to the poop. The farm looks lovely.

It looks beautiful and tranquil, but I know how much work it takes just to get all those kids in the car and packed and then unpacked. I hope you managed to have some time to relax.

I love the pictures! Your children are beautiful!

Ahh, I ache for open land like that! I want to get out of the city and let my daughter run free through the grass and hear cows moo. Looks like you had a really great time.

Isn't it amazing how exhausting vacations tend to be? Well looks like all in all it was a good time though.
